What this is

CompCeiling is an independent, Ontario-built tool that answers one question for used-car dealers: what’s the most I can pay for this unit and still hit my number? Every night we collect asking prices from public listings across more than a thousand Ontario dealer websites; every valuation turns that market into a typical asking price, a realistic range, time-on-lot signals, and a wholesale ceiling computed from your own profit target, reconditioning budget, and fees.

The rules we hold ourselves to

Dealers get burned by tools that dress up guesses as facts, so these rules are built into the product rather than written in a brochure:

• Asking prices, not sold prices.Sold prices aren’t public in Ontario. We never pretend otherwise.
• Every number shows its backing.You always see how many listings sit behind a figure, rated plainly from high to low — and when your region doesn’t have enough matching vehicles, we widen to all of Ontario and say so.
• Totals and averages only.We show you the market as a whole — never another dealer’s individual listing, name, or VIN.
• The math is visible. Every valuation prints it in full: asking price − your profit − recon − fees = your ceiling. No black box.
• It’s information, not an appraisal.You’re the professional — inspect the vehicle and make your own call.
